Valkeakoski's nature, water system, parks and versatile exercise areas offers you plenty of things to do all year-round!

Spend your day at a lake, row a boat, paddle, catch a fish or hire a sub-board. Make a day trip with your family to Apia public park and visit the Children’s Activity park. Or head to Children’s Traffic Playpark at the city center. Or how about a walk around the city? Beautiful track around the Apia bay through cable bridges takes your breath away. There is always things to do in Valkeakoski!

Domestic animal farm is open on Wednesday – Saturday 11-18 and on Sunday 12-16 in the summertime. Here you can meet horses, chicken, sheep, cows, calves, bunnies, ducks, cats and dog. At the farm you find also a nice cafe, pre-order restaurant and a small organic food shop. Possibility to ride a horse.

Children's Traffic Park

Children's Traffic Park is located in the city centre. Play with pedal car or a bicycle.

Children's Adventure Park

Children's Adventure Park is invigorating playground for children. Spend a fun day playing in the sand and in the water!

Children’s Adventure park is situated only a short walk away from the city center and it offers much more than most playgrounds. The kids can splash around in shallow lagoons, play in the bastions and towers, and climb on other safe play apparatus. Take a lunch bag with you and spend a nice summer day with the kids in the Children’s Adventure Park!

Next to the Children’s Adventure Park is a summer theater. Ticket sales starts an hour before the display and the park will be closed during the play.

Swimming beaches

There is a swimming hall right in the city centre and many nice swimming beaches around the city.

Boating

Come and visit us by a boat! Visitors can stop and shop at the town centre or stay overnight at the Kirkonranta and Lepänkorva piers.

Valkeakoski has three marinas and 16 lakeshore areas for boats. The marinas have about 550 pier spaces, about 470 shore spaces and 16 spaces for larger lake boats. Valkeakoski canal connects lakes Mallasvesi and Vanajavesi. For boats, the canal gives access to both north and south, to the beautiful route towards Hämeenlinna or Tampere, or via Kangasala to Längelmäki. When on the lakes, you can go ashore at the natural harbours and stroll in the nearby forests or islands.
