1.2. - 19.4. O-Heis-Grup
Artist Outi Heiskanen has co-operated several years with her colleagues and her family. The latest co-operation was done with a young only 14-years old Markus Jäntti, who draws together with Outi Heiskanen.
Janne Laine, graphic artist, share a long history of working together with Heiskanen. Laine prints Heiskanen´s graphics at Himmelblau Printmaking Studio. In 2003 their co-operation increased further as Heiskanen become aware of the spiritual similarities between the community of hybrid creatures she had created and the landscapes in Laine´s works. These landscapes were just waiting for Heiskanen´s enchanting people to move into their realms of timelessness.
Laine is the one who prints, but the artists create the works together. The combined artworks must always contain something new. It is essential that the incorporation of two images must give birth to something else than what was in the pictures before. Furthermore, they are not to become part of the production of one artist only. To gain this balance both of the artist must show discreet consideration, all the more so as the two of them are positioned very differently in the artworld.
Eero Yli-Vakkuri is a performance artist co-operating with Outi Heiskanen constructing her installations. Also a Copper-project has prodused together and shown as an installation at Voipaala telling the story of making copper.
O-Heis-Grup exhibition represents also young ceramic artist Kersti Tainio and in the cafe of Voipaala give room for groquis drawn by the members of Taivaallinen Akatemia, The Heavenly Academy.
part of the O-Heis-Grup exhibition consists of the original posters from Jyväskylä Summer festivals, which is one of the oldests summer festivals in Finland. The posters of different events of Jyväskylä Summer Festibals from 1960-70th tells the story of conserts and theatre events. Colorful handmade posters are made by Outi Heiskanen and Toivo Heiskanen. Poster exhhbition is shown untill March 15th. Latter part of the exhibition will give room for visiting artists from Hutheesing Art Centre Ahmedabad India with Pilvi-art group who had workshop in Ahmedabad last November.

Backlight 08- Tickle Attack
The theme of the Backlight 2008 Photo Festival was Tickle Attack, Humour, Laughter, Irony, Parody and the Absurd. Laughter is a reaction to both physical and mental tickling. Each gallery and museum exhibits its own ensemble.
The photos in the Voipaala Art Center in Valkeakoski provoked laughter through a documentary representation of circus and clowns. The photos at the Goethe-Institut Finnland in Helsinki took a humoristic approach on the characteristics of Germans by presenting national stereotypes in a hilarious light. Later on in October, the Pori Art Museum inaugurated three alternating exhibitions of photographs and videos.
