The Voipaala Manor was established in Sääksmäki in the Middle Ages. The present buildings provide beautiful and pleasant premises for art exhibitions and art workshops. The Art Centre arranges visiting exhibitions throughout the year.
Voipaala Art Centre provides courses and field trip facilities mostly for pupils in comprehensive schools, children in daycare centres and various other groups of children. The Voipaala Manor is owned by the city of Valkeakoski. The Centre operates on both national and international levels.
The manor and the surrounding parks are located on the slopes of the iron-age Rapola ridge . The Rapola Manor and the fort with its ancient burial grounds are both under the supervision of the National Board of Antiquities and Historical Monuments. The surroundings offer magnificent walking paths from one historical sight to another.
In Voipaala you can walk in a beautiful baroque park and admire buildings from different eras. In addition to the exhibition and workshop facilities, there is an old renovated bakery which is nowadays used for accommodation.
